As a result of a malpractice crisis that has been so problematic, members of the medical community have joined together to establish Centurion Medical Liability Protective, Risk Retention Group (CMLP).

During these difficult times in the medical profession, despite the changes in statutes resulting from recent tort reform, many physicians either can not purchase malpractice insurance for any price, or are subjected to unaffordable medical malpractice premiums, which make the profession less attractive and satisfying. This has forced many to move to other counties and states where the litigious climate is less aggressive.

The physician owners of CMLP have chosen to join together to create their own professional liability insurance company to serve and support the needs of the physician. We stand ready to litigate all incoming claims with a legal defense team that is held on retainer for each and every physician insured with Centurion.

CMLP's purpose remains the same today as it was when the company was founded:  To provide quality, affordable coverage to physicians. CMLP was established by physicians to protect and serve physicians.

CMLP writes medical professional liability and professional group entity liability insurance for our membership. In addition, we offer coverage for other health care providers who are employed by member physicians.

CMLP's capital contributions well exceed the mandated limits. Our financial stability is reflected in our capital and surplus ratios which exceed those of nearly every other malpractice carrier. Our seasoned management team and legal defense team are involved with our physician owners at every level.

CMLP is a company whose Board of Directors is comprised mainly of insured physicians, putting our policyholder's best interest first. No company offers greater stability or member services than CMLP.

We offer extremely competitive medical malpractice premiums for physicians, and guarantee that each insured physician is backed by a legal defense team that is placed on retainer for each and every insured physician, ready to handle any claim that may arise.
